A beautiful Quartz with Dolomite & Pyrite Specimen from Jiangxi, China – 江西天然石英白云石黄铁矿标本, showcasing a natural association of Quartz, Dolomite and Pyrite formed together within a mineral-rich geological environment.

The specimen combines the sparkling appearance of Quartz crystals, the soft white to pale appearance of Dolomite, and the distinctive metallic golden lustre of Pyrite, creating an attractive contrast between transparent to translucent crystals, pale carbonate formations and brassy metallic sulphide.

Jiangxi is an important mineral-producing region of southern China, known for a variety of hydrothermal and polymetallic mineral deposits. Quartz, Dolomite and Pyrite are documented together in mineral assemblages from Jiangxi deposits. Studies of Jiangxi mineralisation have identified quartz and dolomite as important gangue minerals alongside pyrite and other sulphides.

Commercial mineral specimens from Dongxiang County, Jiangxi are also known for attractive quartz-associated assemblages containing Dolomite, Pyrite and other sulphide minerals.

What makes this type of specimen particularly attractive is the natural paragenesis — the minerals did not simply occur separately, but formed within the same geological environment. This allows collectors to appreciate not only individual crystals but also the relationship between different mineral species.

The Quartz provides the main crystalline structure and sparkle, while Dolomite can form contrasting pale crystal coatings or clusters. Pyrite adds brilliant golden-metallic accents that stand out strongly against the lighter minerals.

Depending on the individual specimen, the Quartz may display clear, smoky, milky or slightly tinted areas, while Dolomite can range from white to cream or pale pinkish tones. Pyrite may occur as individual crystals, small clusters, granular aggregates or embedded metallic grains.

Every specimen is naturally unique, with variations in Quartz crystal formation, Dolomite coverage, Pyrite distribution, matrix, lustre, colour and overall composition.

Why It's Special

Three-Mineral Association – The natural combination of Quartz, Dolomite and Pyrite creates an attractive and collectible mineral assemblage.

💎 Sparkling Quartz – Quartz provides crystalline brilliance and natural reflective surfaces throughout the specimen.

🤍 Contrasting Dolomite – Pale Dolomite formations create a beautiful contrast against the clearer Quartz and darker matrix areas.

💰 Golden Pyrite Accents – Metallic golden Pyrite adds flashes of colour and lustre, giving the specimen a richer visual appearance.

🇨🇳 Jiangxi Origin – Jiangxi is a significant mineral-producing region of southern China with numerous documented polymetallic and hydrothermal mineral deposits.

🪨 Natural Paragenesis – The specimen allows collectors to observe several mineral species that formed within the same geological environment.

🔬 Collector Interest – An appealing choice for collectors interested in Chinese minerals, Quartz associations, sulphide minerals and carbonate minerals.

Natural Crystal Formation – Each specimen displays its own combination of crystal size, formation, matrix and mineral distribution.
